About the Mill Site and the Mill Site Study Committee
The Mill Site Study Committee is an ad-hoc group, appointed by the Board of Selectmen, charged with developing a master plan for the property known as the "Mill Site" that abuts the west side of the Nashua River north of Main St. Formerly the home to the Pepperell Paper Company, the Mill Site has been unoccupied for several years, but its prominent location could make any future site development a centerpiece of Pepperell for years to come.
At the Annual Town Meeting in May 2008, the citizens of Pepperell approved two articles designed to encourage development at the Mill Site. The first aims to categorize the Mill Site as an Economic Target Area (ETA), thereby making available certain grant funding to be used for planning and site evaluation purposes. The second, 43D, guarantees a prospective developer an expedited permitting process while working with the Town's various regulatory committees.
Citizens with an interest in the Mill Site are welcome to attend Committee meetings or submit questions, comments, or ideas to the committee at MillSiteStudy@town.pepperell.ma.us.
