Nashoba Conservation Trust's

Friends Way

Friends Way is a Private Drive off South St.
(Access is via an easement to the Nashoba Conservation Trust)

This Nashoba Conservation Trust parcel is the only protected trail off South St. The trail, marked by red dots, runs from a parking lot at the end of the Friends Way common driveway through a grove of birches and aspens. The trail currently connects with the dirt path known as Old Groton Rd., which, in turn, connects to miles of trails. However, the land off Old Groton Rd. is in the process of being developed as part of a large housing development of close to one hundred homes in Groton and Pepperell, putting future recreation opportunities in that forest in jeopardy.

Follow Townsend Rd. (Rt. 113) from the center of Pepperell to its intersection with South St. (Rt. 119). Turn left onto South street for just 0.1 miles and take a right onto Friends Way at the sign. Park at the end of the common driveway.

Recreational Uses:

Hiking (easy to moderate)
Bird watching
Nature observation

If you have any information to add to the description of this or any other recreation parcel in Pepperell, or Conservation website related questions or comments, please contact the Conservation Commission.
