You must register to vote at least twenty days before any Town or State election or the Presidential Primary. Under M.G.L. Chapter 51, Section 50, if you were absent from the State during the last week of voter registration, upon swearing under the pains and penalty of perjury and one form of proof, you may register to vote up until 4:00 P.M. the day before the election.
