Surplus Material

From time to time the Town has excess material – fallen trees, deer, or other material of low value to the Town for which timely removal is important. For situations such as these, the Town Highway Dept will maintain a list of persons interested in such excess materials. The Town will notify the community annually to update the list and persons may be added to the list at any time. When excess material becomes available, the department head responsible for the material will contact person(s) on the list and offer it to them. The person must respond in a timely fashion and remove the material at their own expense and effort within a timeframe acceptable to the Town. Requests that cannot accommodate the towns scheduling needs will result in the next person on the list being contacted. In order to maximize efficiency and minimize delays, priority will be given to residents on the list in closest proximity to the activity that generates the surplus material. The Town may leave material at a residential address if the cost of bringing the material to the town storage area exceeds the cost of leaving it on the resident’s property.

Anyone interested in being on the ‘excess material list’ is asked to complete and submit the required form: Surplus Material Request
