Massachusetts Drought Alert

Due to two months of below normal rainfall, and a relatively mild winter with minimal snow pack, MA Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) Secretary Kathleen Theoharides has just declared a Level 1-Mild Drought in the Northern Middlesex Region.

To enhance awareness of the current drought conditions, Pepperell’s regional planning agency (NMCOG) is asking that member communities assist in sharing this important information with their residents. This drought alert flyer provides information on the current drought conditions and how municipalities and residents & businesses can mitigate and prepare for long-term drought impacts.

Please note that the Pepperell Board of Public Works recently voted to implement an outdoor watering ban effective May 01, 2021, and to be in place until further notice.
